What Are Inlays?
Inlays are restorations that are usually made of gold or porcelain. They are often used to fill in cavities that are too large for fillings, and they can also be used to replace old fillings or repair cracked teeth. Getting an inlay requires two visits. During the first visit, the Atlanta cosmetic dentist will take a mould of the patient’s tooth and send it to a dental lab. They will also provide the patient with a temporary inlay.
During the second visit, the dentist will remove the temporary inlay and place the permanent inlay in the tooth. Once the dentist is satisfied that the permanent inlay fits perfectly, they will use a special cement to bond it to the tooth.
